About this item

by Eric Shahan (Author)

A translation of an illustrated Japanese Jujutsu manual. This manual is from the Bokuden School, founded by the Sword Saint Tsukahara Bokuden (1489 1571)

The manual contains fifty techniques, each with one illustration. The topics include using Jujutsu while seated, standing or lying down as well as how to steal your opponent's swords or defend against having your own stolen.
A fascinating look at how Samurai learned Jujutsu and applied it to close quarters combat against unarmed and armed opponents.
