About this item
by Arthur William Raybold (Author), Edwards M. Larry (Editor)
A book of poems from a native New Englander. Home From The Banks offers wit, feeling, and lyrical insight from a keen observer of life. This is a remarkable collection from a remarkable man. Raybold, who grew up in Mattapoisett, Mass., served as Chairman of the English Department at Middlesex School in Concord, Mass., where he instilled a love of language in his students. His poems reflect not only that love of language and turn of phrase, but his love of life and those around him. Live, laugh, and shed a tear as this poet takes you on a stroll with the people, places, and pooches we all can relate to, from Bread Loaf 1962 and to Fun in the Rain and Soap Opera to 45th Reunion and Home from the Banks. From Mattapoisett to San Diego. What's like . . . his dog licking the raindrops running down the outside pane? The reader is left pondering that and other mysteries we encounter in our daily lives.
