Miami Indian Stories is a collection of traditional tales and legends from the Miami tribe, as retold by Clarence Godfroy. The book offers a window into the rich cultural heritage of the Miami people, who once inhabited the Great Lakes region of North America. The stories cover a range of topics, from creation myths and animal fables to historical events and personal experiences. Through these tales, readers can learn about the Miami's spiritual beliefs, social customs, and relationship with the natural world. Godfroy's retellings are faithful to the original oral tradition, preserving the unique language and storytelling style of the Miami.
