About this item
by Roger L. Shinn (Author)
In this highly readable interpretation written for laymen, the author shows why the Sermon on the Mount has proved to be one of the most influential parts of the entire New Testament. He discusses the Sermon section by section, using illustrations from many areas of knowledge. Rich in good theology and ethical perceptivity--an excellent book for those without a strong biblical and theological background.
ROGER L. SHINN is William E. Dodge, Jr., Professor of Applied Christianity and Dean of Instruction at Union Theological Seminary, New York. Dr. Shinn serves on the editorial board of Christianity and Crisis. His other books include The Existentialist Posture (Association Press), Life, Death, and Destiny (Westminster), Christianity and the Problem of History and Tangled World (Scribner's).
