About this item
by Edward M. Bounds (Author)
The Weapon of Prayer presents E. M. Bounds' disciplined and urgent teaching on prayer as the central force in Christian spiritual life.
Writing from the conviction that prayer is neither ornament nor routine but power, Bounds argues that spiritual vitality in both the individual believer and the Church depends upon sustained, earnest communion with God. He draws upon Scripture, pastoral reflection, and historical example to show that prayer precedes renewal, strengthens conviction, and undergirds moral courage.
Unlike devotional works that emphasize comfort alone, Bounds stresses perseverance, reverence, and spiritual seriousness. Prayer, in his understanding, is not passive resignation but active engagement-an instrument through which divine purpose is realized in human affairs. His prose is direct, scriptural, and uncompromising in its insistence that spiritual effectiveness flows from disciplined devotion.
This Sublime Books edition presents the complete text in its original form, preserving Bounds' structure and theological emphasis.
