About this item
by Margaret L. Brandeis (Author)
In this humorous, enlightening and thoroughly entertaining treasure hunt, a young woman named Margaret innocently ventures into the treacherous world of sunken Spanish galleons laden with gold doubloons. For 17 years she battles hurricanes, bureaucrats, sea snakes, witches, disgruntled divers and rival treasure hunters. She gets arrested, betrayed and shot at by her own captain but she never gives up. Ultimately buying a crusty, old, salvage boat called the "Hooker's Holiday", Margaret searches the waters of the Bahamas, the Caribbean and South America where they dubbed her La Bucanera...the female buccaneer. This thrilling, true-life account of finding lost treasure weaves tantalizing adventure and historical details with provocative philosophical insights, making this book a uniquely fulfilling experience. By the end of her quest, Margaret uncovers a secret more valuable than all the gold at the bottom of the sea.
If you want an authentic look at the obstacles and excitement of searching for sunken shipwrecks, you won't be able to put this book down. If you are looking for an inspiring and naked examination of motivation and self-actualization, this book holds the key. It's a MUST READ!
