About this item

by Keith L. Belvin (Author), Tiffany Belvin (Editor)

Word Play will cause you to fall in love with Poetry and Spoken Word. As you read from each poet in this powerful line up it will be as if you're being asked to choose which of your children you love more. The twelve poets have their own unique voice that has been touched with talent. Some are professional who perform daily, everywhere they can, and some are simply artists who see the world through their unique perspective. Poetry and Spoken Word has been a staple in the world since the beginning of language itself, but has been overlooked at times. However, we have started to see an reignition of poetic flames with the success of HBO's Brave New Voices and Def Jam's Def Poetry Jam series. Both sending unknown artist into the world to become household names because of their exquisite styles. Word Play is going to do the same for the poetic line up in this book.
